Sigma Sport, a UK-based global retailer of bikes and cycling gear, wanted to find more high–lifetime-value customers by improving on-site engagement. Analysis showed 40% of returning customers arrived via the homepage but fewer than 2% used the prominent carousel, so the company needed a more personalized homepage experience.

Working with Merkle | Periscopix, Sigma Sport used Google Analytics audiences and Google Optimize 360 to replace the generic carousel with brand-specific carousels targeted to visitors who had viewed or bought one of the top three brands. The personalized experiment drove a 28% increase in revenue, a 32% uplift in e‑commerce conversion rate, and higher carousel clickthroughs, product-page views and add-to-cart rates, with a >90% probability to beat the baseline.
