Rasmussen College, a career-focused private college with 24 campuses and a national online presence, wanted to understand how important tuition costs were to prospective students. Although the school had built an online tuition estimator, it lacked tracking to show who used the tool or whether price information influenced enrollment decisions, limiting its ability to position tuition and communicate the value of a Rasmussen education.
Rasmussen integrated Google Analytics custom events, variables and segments with the estimator, exported and analyzed the data, and used map overlays and third‑party usability testing to answer programmatic and geographic questions. The analysis showed clear differences in price interest by school of study, that estimator users were four times more likely to submit an inquiry (and ROI‑calculator users 7.3× more likely), and led to higher conversion rates, better task completion and targeted tuition content across programs and regions.
