That dependence raised questions about the long-term value of affiliate-driven users and which acquisition channels actually delivered the highest-value customers.
Working with Keley Consulting and using Google Analytics’ Multi-Channel Funnels, advanced segments and the Model Comparison Tool, the team mapped conversion paths by channel and offer. They discovered SEO and referral traffic accounted for 73% of last non-direct click value for higher-value offers, while affiliates often seeded later direct conversions; they then boosted SEO, SEM, radio and site ergonomics (and later TV). The changes produced an 11% increase in conversion rate and a 20% increase in turnover.
