Redemption Games, a California-based developer behind Sweet Escapes, faced low ad fill rates and weak CPMs after relying on a single ad network, and they needed to boost monetization without harming in‑app purchase (IAP) revenue. To solve this, they implemented Google AdMob mediation and AdMob’s smart segmentation for rewarded ads.

Using Google AdMob’s mediation with smart segmentation (A/B tested across Android and iOS over 30 days), Redemption targeted ads to predicted non-purchasers while preserving an ad-free experience for likely spenders. The results: CPMs increased 40%, ARPU rose 43%, overall app revenue more than doubled (100%+), and there was no negative impact on user retention or conversion, keeping IAP revenue intact.
