RadioFM, a popular India-based app that aggregates radio stations worldwide, needed to grow ad revenue without hurting the listener experience. Working with Google AdMob, the team explored new ad formats to monetize increasing traffic while preserving retention and app ratings.

Google AdMob helped RadioFM implement app open ads on Android, running a short A/B test and capping impressions at two opens per user per day; the format did not cannibalize existing banners or interstitials. The result: a 13% eCPM lift and a 20% increase in ARPDAU, with retention and user reviews remaining steady.
