PrivacyStar fuels growth with AdMob Network

PrivacyStar, a smartphone app that helps users block unwanted telemarketing calls and report privacy violations, faced a challenge in driving downloads profitably despite more than a million installs and 120M calls blocked. After relying on broad desktop and TV campaigns that produced a high cost per acquisition (CPA) of about $5 or more, PrivacyStar turned to Google AdMob to reach users directly on their mobile devices.

Using Google AdMob’s in‑app display ads and targeting, PrivacyStar limited placements to specific app categories and continuously optimized campaigns with Google Analytics, shortening free trials and refining creative and targeting. The AdMob strategy cut CPA from upwards of $5 to under $2, allowed the team to scale mobile acquisition while maintaining lead quality, and improved return on ad spend to fuel continued growth.
