MegaJogos triples ad revenue with AdMob bidding and Firebase Remote Config

MegaJogos, one of Brazil’s largest casual card and board game studios, faced high new-user churn after players exhausted the 35 free registration coins and stopped returning on day one. To diagnose and fix retention without hurting monetization, the team used Firebase Remote Config to A/B test increasing starting coins and evaluated impacts on D1 retention, in-app purchases, and ad revenue — while also exploring ad solutions with Google AdMob.

MegaJogos implemented Firebase Remote Config experiments to find the optimal coin grant and adopted Google AdMob bidding with rewarded ads and adjusted placements; this approach improved D1 retention and dramatically boosted ad monetization. After testing, rewarded ads plus coin incentives delivered a 40% lift in ad revenue in initial tests and AdMob bidding ultimately helped increase overall ad revenue by more than 300%, while simplifying ad management.
