HeroCraft uses AdMob to generate up to 60% of its ad revenue

HeroCraft, a Top Developer on Google Play with over 50 million downloads, needed a way to apply the right monetization model across a diverse portfolio of mobile games at different lifecycle stages. To drive downloads, preserve in‑app purchase (IAP) revenue, and grow ad income, HeroCraft turned to Google AdMob to manage ad formats, targeting, and cross‑promotion across its titles.

Using Google AdMob’s banner and interstitial ads, house ads for cross‑promotion, and mediation and dashboard analytics to optimize fill rates and targeting, HeroCraft adopted a hybrid IAP-plus-ads model that avoided cannibalizing purchases. The result: ads now account for about 60% of ad revenue, Google AdMob drives roughly 40% of company revenue, Farm Frenzy’s revenue rose nearly 200% during its free period, and some games achieve 100% monetization from ads, freeing resources for new development.
