Game Insight, a Vilnius-based mobile games studio founded in 2009 with over 600 developers and titles like Survival Arena, Airport City, and Guns of Boom, needed to boost ad revenue for Survival Arena without harming in‑app purchase (IAP) conversion or the player experience. To address this, they partnered with Google AdMob and tested AdMob smart segmentation alongside interstitial ad formats.
Google AdMob implemented smart segmentation to predict purchasers vs. non‑purchasers and serve interstitials only to predicted non‑purchasers, with ad display limits and a single additional interstitial slot. The feature was rolled out within a week and ramped revenue within a month, delivering a 30% increase in ad revenue while preserving IAP revenue and core engagement metrics; Game Insight has since expanded AdMob mediation and plans broader rollout across its portfolio.
