CookApps grows ad revenue by 86% with AdMob rewarded ads and mediation

CookApps, a South Korea–based mobile and social game studio with hit titles like Bubble CoCo, faced stagnant monetization because only about 1.5% of players made in‑app purchases. To grow revenue without harming user experience, CookApps turned to Google AdMob, adopting rewarded video ads and AdMob mediation to monetize non‑paying users while protecting IAPs.

Using Google AdMob’s rewarded ads, mediation (with ANO and Live eCPM), and A/B testing of pop‑up placements that offered freebies or extra lives, CookApps increased ad network competition and preserved UX. The AdMob implementation drove an 86% increase in ad revenue and a 4%+ rise in ARPDAU, delivered stronger CPMs, and was rolled out across the company’s apps.
