Caltex Petrochem - Customer Case Study

Caltex Petrochem — a family-owned group operating 17 independent retail sites — was struggling to compete with big-brand petrol retailers and needed a way to drive repeat visits and higher in-store spend. The existing Caltex-branded fuel loyalty scheme offered little value for non-fuel sales and kept customer data with the provider, so Caltex Petrochem selected the Goody loyalty programme and platform for its simplicity and support.

Goody implemented a customer-facing loyalty app and gave Caltex Petrochem access to purchase data, enabling targeted rewards and merchandising changes that boosted in-store sales. In two years more than 20,000 customers signed up, coffee sales jumped from about 100 cups a week to roughly 100 a day, staff across sites were trained on the platform, and Caltex Petrochem reports it has fully recouped its Goody investment with significant sales growth.
