Project Purple, a nonprofit founded to honor a loved one lost to pancreatic cancer, needed a better way to turn social media interest into fundraising and donor relationships. After running nearly 50 virtual events in 2020 with sparse, confusing data and limited ability to message supporters directly on Facebook, the organization turned to GoodUnited for help.
GoodUnited created Facebook challenge campaigns with ads, a private Facebook group, Messenger opt-ins, and personalized follow-up so participants could connect, share stories, and start their own fundraisers. The two challenges raised more than $120,000, helped Project Purple achieve some of its best fundraising months in 11 years, and built a more engaged supporter community that the organization could continue cultivating long after the events ended.
