Case Study: South32 achieves widespread employee and contractor donations for bushfire relief with Good2Give

A Good2Give Case Study

Preview of the South32 Case Study

Encouraging employees and contractors to contribute directly to bushfire appeals

South32, a global mining and metals company with more than 14,000 employees, sought to encourage employees and contractors to contribute directly to Australian bushfire appeals. With support from Good2Give, South32 launched a dedicated fundraising page and Employee Matched Giving initiative to channel donations to the Australian Red Cross, WIRES and Buy A Bale.

Good2Give provided the fundraising platform and helped manage the matched-giving campaign, enabling employees and contractors to raise AU$95,000 (an amount South32 doubled through its Matched Giving program). Combined with AU$1 million in corporate donations (AU$500,000 in November 2019 and a further AU$500,000 in January 2020), product donations and volunteer efforts, the partnership delivered a measurable, multi‑faceted contribution to bushfire relief and recovery.
