Case Study: Aurizon achieves scalable community impact and rapid disaster response with Good2Give

A Good2Give Case Study

Preview of the Aurizon Case Study

Community priorities deeply embedded in Aurizon’s culture harness great senior leadership and employee support

Aurizon, Australia’s largest rail freight operator and an ASX‑listed company, wanted to strengthen the communities where its people live and work and to empower employees to give back. To translate those values into a strategic, scalable program — and to be able to respond quickly in emergencies like Cyclone Debbie — Aurizon partnered with Good2Give in 2011 to design the Aurizon Community Giving Fund and a comprehensive community investment strategy.

Good2Give provided the framework, a tailored online grants platform and an automated banking/distribution solution (the Good2Give Foundation Account), plus due‑diligence, validation and grant‑making expertise. The program — offering grants up to $20,000 — has funded more than 320 community projects in seven years, reduced Aurizon’s administrative time and costs through automated distribution and third‑party auditing, and enabled a rapid Cyclone Debbie emergency round that saw Good2Give validate and process funds to 15 local grant recipients within months.
