A GoGuardian Case Study
Windsor Public Schools, a Connecticut district of six schools serving Pre‑K–12 with about 3,300 students and 7,000 Chromebooks, needed a way to monitor student wellbeing on one‑to‑one devices. Windsor Public Schools adopted GoGuardian’s Beacon (part of the GoGuardian Suite) to identify students silently struggling by analyzing sentiment across searches, documents, chats, and social media—going beyond simple keyword flags—to catch safety and mental‑health concerns happening on school devices.
GoGuardian deployed Beacon’s Active Planning Alerts into Windsor’s counseling workflow so counselors and administrators receive actionable flags and can respond quickly. In one case Beacon detected concerning sentiment in a new student’s writing (without any keyword hits), prompting an assistant principal and counselors to contact the student and family; the student’s mental and emotional state improved. Windsor reports multiple such alerts have led to earlier identification and support that staff previously would have missed, demonstrating measurable improvement in intervention.
