Case Study: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) achieves streamlined, paperless inspections and faster compliance with GoFormz

A GoFormz Case Study

Preview of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Case Study

Ohio Department of Transportation leverages digital forms, automated workflows, and the SharePoint integration to streamline the completion of inspection and compliance forms, even while offline in the field

The Ohio Department of Transportation faced an expensive, paper-heavy process for managing paperwork across 700+ projects a year and no centralized electronic oversight — documents were stored in bankers' boxes, data capture varied by worker, and crews needed a device‑agnostic, offline-capable solution. To address this, Ohio Department of Transportation turned to GoFormz to digitize inspections, compliance forms and other field documentation.

GoFormz implemented digital, dynamic forms, automated workflows and a SharePoint integration with offline mobile capability, allowing ODOT to digitize 200+ inspection forms into a single adaptive template and onboard 1,600+ users. The result: required data fields dropped from about 30–60 to 3–9, forms sync to SharePoint within minutes, improved data completeness and accuracy, elimination of paper for 1,000+ inspectors, reduced training and scanning time, and clear time and cost savings.
