Goldcorp, one of the world’s largest gold producers, needed to standardize and scale contractor orientations and safety training at its Red Lake site amid high contractor turnover, limited on-site training capacity, and inconsistent manual processes. Since 2015 Goldcorp has used GoContractor’s customized online platform to manage registrations, identity and qualification verification, and site-specific orientations for contractors and direct employees.

GoContractor implemented four tailored onboarding and safety programs and now manages nearly 1,000 workers, allowing 5–6 hours of training to be completed online so arrivals require only about 2.5 hours on-site. The change delivered a 75% reduction in on-site training hours (from 6,000 to 1,500), increased scheduling flexibility (from ~50 to up to 200 training days), and reduced annual training costs by more than half (about $9,100 vs. $21,000).
