Family Legacy Missions, a faith-based non-profit supporting orphans in Zambia, faced significant logistics challenges. Their small team, led by Todd Weier, struggled with creating highly accurate shipping manifests for containers of supplies sent from the US and with tracking the location and consumption of inventory across their 24 schools and orphanage in Africa. Seeking a solution, they turned to the asset tracking system they were already using for office equipment from their vendor, GoCodes.
By customizing the configurable fields in the GoCodes asset tracking system, Todd was able to adapt it for complex inventory and manifest management. The cloud-based and mobile nature of the GoCodes solution allowed for real-time updates even in remote Zambian locations, providing instant visibility into item locations and status. This brought newfound accountability for donated funds and goods, saved time for the logistics team, and provided the data needed to better understand consumption rates.
