Zen Asset Management, a Washington-based cannabis management and service provider founded in 2015, needed a better way to handle HR for its 140 non-desk employees. The team’s existing HR software was too computer-dependent and cumbersome for workers in growhouses and processing facilities, making tasks like benefits enrollment and paperwork inefficient. GoCo, a mobile-first HR platform, was brought in to solve the challenge.
With GoCo, Zen Asset Management created a smartphone-friendly HR experience that let employees manage benefits, payroll information, and other HR tasks from their phones. The company reported that GoCo required no training or systems administrator, helped eliminate a separate systems role, reduced questions and frustration, and made HR more efficient and scalable. Zen Asset Management also said it was able to downsize its HR department, while employees could focus more on their jobs instead of complicated HR workflows.
