Boston Public Schools Partners with Goalbook to Design Instruction for ALL

Boston Public Schools partnered with Goalbook to help teachers deliver more rigorous, equitable instruction across the district. The district’s challenge was ensuring all students had access to cognitively demanding tasks while also giving educators better support for applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in classroom planning and instruction, using Goalbook Pathways and related professional development.

Goalbook provided instructional resources and led hands-on professional development for teachers at eight school sites, helping them design scaffolded, UDL-aligned lessons that increased rigor and access for more students. The partnership showed strong results: by the end of the pilot, 90% of teachers felt confident implementing cognitively demanding tasks, 80% felt confident applying UDL independently, and principals reported improved instructional effectiveness and lesson planning efficiency.
