Creating a culture of learning at Metro Trains

Metro Trains Melbourne partnered with Go1 to expand beyond technical rail safety training and create more ongoing professional development opportunities for staff. While the Metro Academy already supported core capability building, the team needed a more flexible learning solution that could better support leadership, career development, and a stronger culture of learning.

Go1 provided the “Learning at Metro” portal, rebranded internally from the Go1 platform and launched through a three-week implementation. Metro used it to offer self-directed online learning for corporate staff, and the results were strong: employees showed higher engagement, actively completed training, and began using the portal as a “learning one-stop-shop.” The program grew through word of mouth to more than 650 employees, with Go1’s reporting showing real activity and completion across the business.
