A Go Vocal Case Study
The South Holland city of Waddinxveen, a fast-growing municipality of 35,000 residents, faced the challenge of meaningfully involving its large and growing youth population in civic decisions. To move beyond a purely symbolic child mayor role, the city partnered with the vendor Go Vocal and utilized its online participation platform to research and implement a new strategy for child participation.
Using the Go Vocal platform, the city launched a survey that found nearly two-thirds of residents supported establishing a formal children's council. This research informed the creation of a 12-member children's committee with representatives from every primary school. The committee, which meets four to six times a year, provides concrete advice on policy topics like safety and urban development. Go Vocal's tools, including an AI analysis feature and Report Builder, enabled the city to efficiently summarize open-ended feedback and share results, leading to impactful youth engagement and valuable policy insights.
