A Go Vocal Case Study
Rueil Malmaison, a suburban French commune of about 78,000 residents, needed a way to give citizens a lasting voice in local decision‑making and to maintain community ties during crises like COVID‑19. To build and scale that digital civic space, Rueil Malmaison partnered with Go Vocal to deploy an online participatory/engagement platform.
Go Vocal’s platform powered a successful 2019 participatory budget and ongoing projects—recording over 30,000 visits, 156 ideas passing initial checks, 470 comments and 2,440 votes, with six winning projects selected for implementation. During the March–June 2020 lockdown the Go Vocal platform logged more than 43,000 sessions (a >30% increase), mobilized 285 volunteer seamstresses who produced ~30,000 masks, enabled delivery of over 6,000 food baskets, arranged groceries for 353 at‑risk residents, and engaged about 2,700 people in online events, demonstrating clear, measurable community impact.
