A Go Vocal Case Study
Peñalolén, a Chilean commune, sought to implement a participatory budgeting process to improve infrastructure and public spaces by directly involving its community. They partnered with the vendor Go Vocal to utilize its community engagement platform to manage this initiative, which focused on enhancing safety, accessibility, and intergenerational integration.
Using the Go Vocal platform, the administration allowed residents to submit and vote on project ideas for a share of a 500,000,000 Chilean peso budget. The solution successfully engaged 24,450 registered citizens, achieving a 10.10% engagement rate. This process led to the funding and implementation of ten winning community projects that were selected based on the public vote, effectively distributing the budget across the commune's neighborhoods.
