A Go Vocal Case Study
Lommel, a municipality of 31,536 inhabitants aiming to redevelop the train station area into a high‑quality, well‑connected residential neighbourhood, needed to involve as many citizens as possible and clearly communicate existing study‑bureau plans. To run the public participation process, Lommel used Go Vocal's civic participation platform to gather input and keep residents informed.
Go Vocal helped Lommel structure the consultation by dividing plans into five themes, posting city‑branded proposals with images and descriptions, embedding a website widget, and promoting the initiative via social media, newsletters and local press; automated email notifications, weekly newsletters and a moderation dashboard kept administrators informed with minimal effort. In 45 days Go Vocal drove +2,410 monthly visitors, 611 registered citizens, 18 ideas, +168 votes and 19 comments, and administrators praised Go Vocal’s user‑friendliness and demographic insights.
