Linz Innovation Hauptplatz - Customer Case Study

The city of Linz faced limitations with its in-house digital democracy tools, including a restrictive, short-lived participation platform and outdated technology. To enable broader, more robust citizen engagement on any topic, they partnered with vendor Go Vocal to implement their digital community engagement platform and its "Proposals" feature.

Go Vocal's solution provided a bottom-up approach for citizens to submit ideas, which the city would then discuss if they received sufficient support. This partnership allowed Linz to share technology costs and benefit from continuous platform improvements. The results for Linz were over 150 citizen proposals submitted and more than 25 follow-up discussions held, significantly strengthening their civic engagement network.
