Gridly, a company aiming to simplify home electrification for homeowners, faced the challenge of building a complex platform from scratch. Their vision was to turn messy geographic and public records data into simple, actionable plans for homeowners. They partnered with The Gnar Company for custom software development to take this idea from concept to a launched product.

The Gnar Company designed and built a full-stack platform with a React front end and Ruby on Rails back end. This solution absorbed the data complexity and provided homeowners with a simple interface to get electrification plans and cost estimates. The platform launched in March 2023 and supported Massachusetts' goal to electrify over 175,000 homes. The successful outcome was that Gridly was acquired by Elephant Energy in 2024.
