Duodecim, a provider of healthcare and elderly care, faced a challenge with rising acute care situations in home settings. They needed a cost-effective way to train their practitioners for complex real-world emergency scenarios that are difficult to simulate. To address this, they teamed up with Glue to develop virtual reality training exercises.

Glue created a true-to-life virtual practice environment using a custom-built Glue space. This multi-user VR solution allowed staff to safely learn and test their skills on virtual patients. A major pilot in Helsinki was extremely successful, with over 90% of respondents finding the VR training extremely useful. The solution successfully boosted staff competence in emergency situations and improved their consultation skills.
