Case Study: MACH achieves democratized, fee-free mobile banking and 500K+ users with Globant

A Globant Case Study

Preview of the MACH Case Study

Innovation for the banking model of the future

MACH, the mobile-first payments app born from Banco de Crédito e Inversiones’ effort to democratize payments, needed to reach unbanked and younger users frustrated with traditional banking—simplifying account opening, transfers and online purchases. Globant was engaged to provide an agile, multidisciplinary delivery team (Product Acceleration and Mobile studios, plus UX, Big Data, CloudOps, Scalable Platforms and Quality Engineering) to design and build a mobile solution tailored to low‑friction, everyday use.

Globant delivered autonomous cross‑functional teams that implemented a simple, social app underpinned by microservices, CI/CD pipelines, Big Data analytics and people‑centered UX; the MVP launched in six months and included fee‑free peer payments, an international prepaid card, and asynchronous flows for poor connectivity. Globant’s solution enabled rapid growth—MACH exceeded 500,000 users in its first year, reached 810k accounts overall, and earned 4.7‑star ratings in both the App Store and Play Store.
