Columbian Mutual Life Insurance Company sought to reduce policy turnaround times and improve submission quality by replacing its paper-based workflows with an electronic system. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor GlobalSign to implement a server-based PDF signing solution that would produce documents with the same legal integrity as physical signatures while being easy for agents to adopt.

GlobalSign provided a solution using their HSM PDF Signing service, which works with a custom web application. This allows sales agents to instantly generate digitally signed and timestamped documents from any location with a single click, eliminating the need for physical tokens. The implementation by GlobalSign significantly decreased the turn-around time from policy application to issuance.
