Law Enforcement Uses EFT Enterprise to Efficiently and Securely Share Files from Multiple Sources

A law enforcement agency in a densely populated U.S. metropolitan area needed a reliable way to efficiently and securely share a high volume of files from multiple sources. Manual, timed-script transfers running in the DMZ were unreliable, provided no visibility into failures, bandwidth use or malware, and created backlogs and potential safety risks. The agency evaluated Globalscape’s Enhanced File Transfer (EFT) platform to address these issues.

Globalscape implemented EFT Enterprise with modules including the Advanced Workflow Engine (AWE), Content Integrity Control (CIC), Auditing and Reporting Module (ARM), and the DMZ Gateway to move transfers behind the internal firewall. The solution automated Event Rules (eliminating reliance on complex scripts), added AV/DLP scanning, provided auditing/reporting and email alerts, and delivered user/IP tracking—enabling the agency to measure transfer timeliness, detect malware attempts, adjust bandwidth, and gain full visibility into transfers.
