Israel National Digital Agency builds a national design system for 5,000+ developers with Globalbit

The Israel National Digital Agency faced a significant challenge: hundreds of independent government websites operated with no shared design language, creating a fragmented and often inaccessible digital experience for citizens. This lack of consistency and centralized standards resulted in duplicated development efforts and widespread non-compliance with accessibility requirements. Globalbit was engaged to address this critical need for a unified solution.

Globalbit designed and built the official Israeli Government Design System, a comprehensive set of hundreds of accessible, RTL-native components across multiple frameworks including React, Angular, and vanilla JavaScript. This system became the mandatory national standard, adopted by over 5,000 developers. The solution, which was released as open source, ensured automatic WCAG 2.1 AA compliance for all government digital services, creating a consistent and accessible experience for millions of citizens.
