Ontix & Globalreach Technology Deliver Seamless Central London Wi-fi Roaming For At&t’s International Customers

Ontix, a UK next‑generation wireless infrastructure‑as‑a‑service provider, needed to deliver seamless, high‑capacity Wi‑Fi roaming for AT&T’s international customers in central London hotspots like Trafalgar Square. To enable automatic SIM‑based onboarding and Passpoint™ connectivity, Ontix partnered with GlobalReach Technology, which supplied the Passpoint service that lets AT&T subscribers auto‑attach to the Wi‑Fi network.

GlobalReach Technology’s Passpoint solution was deployed on Ontix’s outdoor Wi‑Fi nodes installed on lampposts and street furniture with high‑speed backhaul and integrated into Ontix’s hybrid Metrohaul architecture alongside small cells. The result: AT&T customers now automatically connect and seamlessly roam between cellular and Wi‑Fi (with free VoIP), capacity is boosted in dense urban areas, the service is publicly available in Trafalgar Square and is set to extend across Westminster in Q1 2021 under Ontix’s exclusive 10‑year concession, validating the approach and reducing macro‑network load.
