GlobalReach Technology Supports Public Wi-Fi at the ‘Tour of Britain’ for KBR Wireless Networks

The Tour of Britain, Britain’s biggest professional cycling race covering almost 1,500 km across eight regional stages, needed reliable public Wi‑Fi to engage spectators and support event operations. Event organisers (SweetSpot Group) and integrator KBR Wireless Networks selected GlobalReach Technology and its GlobalReach Wi‑Fi AAA RADIUS and captive portal platform to provide guest and staff/media access, social‑media login and capture user behaviour data.

GlobalReach Technology’s platform was deployed with Meru hardware by KBR to deliver two separate public and staff/media networks, authenticating users via a captive portal with social login and supplying organisers and sponsors with user‑pattern analytics. The implementation enabled seamless, authenticated access throughout the Tour, helped generate spectator engagement and provided organisers and sponsors with actionable audience insights.
