Globalreach Passpoint OSU Supports the Mobile World Congress 2017 Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) Live Experience

The Wireless Broadband Alliance needed to deliver a seamless, secure Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) experience at Mobile World Congress 2017 for a large, international audience and numerous mobile operators and partners. GlobalReach Technology supplied its Odysys™ Passpoint online-sign-up server (OSU), a cloud-based Passpoint authentication and provisioning service, to handle device onboarding and automated secure connections.

Using GlobalReach Technology’s Passpoint OSU, attendees pre-downloaded Passpoint profiles and were able to automatically and securely connect to the on-site network across major platforms. The deployment supported more than 108,000 delegates from 208 countries, validated large-scale NGH authentication for carriers and partners (including Cisco, AT&T and Accuris Networks), and built on GlobalReach Technology’s prior municipal Passpoint rollouts to demonstrate scalable, real-world impact.
