Cognizant Expands Global Reach with Global Expansion

Cognizant faced a global delivery challenge: upcoming work in countries outside its 24 existing entities required a decision to open new entities, decline work, or use an Employer of Record (EOR). After an RFP, Cognizant selected Global Expansion (GX) as its EOR partner, leveraging GX’s GX1 platform and advisory EOR services to meet Cognizant’s strict compliance, security, and employee‑experience requirements.

Global Expansion implemented a phased, co‑branded EOR program—using GX1 for visibility and reporting, auditing local employment laws, and running tailored onboarding/town halls—to ensure compliance and a positive employee experience. As a result, GX and Cognizant have launched two client project teams and plan four additional teams this year (each requiring 5–20 professionals), with ongoing biweekly collaboration and a roadmap that standardizes communications, immigration, tax and PTO handling across jurisdictions.
