DavCo Restaurants, Inc., a Wendy’s franchisee since 1975 with 156 Mid‑Atlantic locations and roughly 6,000 employees, was burdened by an antiquated, paper payroll—cutting and delivering nearly 6,000 checks each pay period. The paper process drove up costs, complicated bank reconciliation and escheatment, and caused on‑site payday disruptions, while a large unbanked workforce prevented a full switch to direct deposit.
Global Cash Card implemented a paycard solution with hands‑on field support—trialing at seven stores and running regional rollouts to educate and enroll employees—while also helping some workers move to direct deposit. The program made DavCo 97% paperless, eliminated the need to cut and deliver thousands of checks, generated significant cost savings, sped up payroll issue resolution, and gave unbanked employees a convenient payment option.
