A Glisser Case Study
The Royal Society, one of the world’s oldest scientific academies, hosted “The Wisdom of the Crowd” at its London venue with the University of Oxford. For this citizen science event, the challenge was to actively engage a live audience and collect useful responses in a way that would support the lecture’s central theme of crowd intelligence. Glisser was used as the audience engagement platform, including Glisser Live for hybrid participation.
Glisser helped Marcus du Sautoy turn the lecture into a real-time experiment, using interactive slides, polls, quizzes, questions, and live voting to test the wisdom of the crowd. The event doubled attendance through remote access and generated strong engagement, with 416 attendees, 120 questions asked, 440 upvotes, 28 polls, 12 quizzes, and 17 tweets. Glisser enabled The Royal Society to create a more participatory experience while gathering broader data and supporting the presentation’s scientific goals.
