Marvell Technology, a leading semiconductor provider for storage, network infrastructure and wireless connectivity, faced a crisis after a 2015 SEC investigation, leadership turnover and near break-even performance that left employees worried and Wall Street skeptical. New CEO Matt Murphy refocused the business and prioritized rebuilding culture, but leaders needed a holistic, data-driven view of employee sentiment and manager effectiveness to re-engage the workforce and restore performance.
In early 2017 Marvell deployed Glint’s continuous listening platform—combining frequent engagement pulses and Manager Effectiveness surveys—to give managers real-time team data, highlight priority actions, and guide targeted training and coaching. The program identified four key focus areas, showed managers in the top 20% had teams ~20% more engaged, and supported improvements in retention, throughput and manager capability; over 18 months sales, profits and morale improved as the cultural turnaround accelerated.
