The HopeGel Project delivers 50,000+ pouches with Glenroy

The HopeGel Project, a nonprofit organization, developed a nutrient-dense protein gel to combat severe acute malnutrition in Haitian children but required a flexible packaging solution that could protect the product from intense heat and humidity during transport and storage. They partnered with packaging vendor Glenroy to create a specialized pouch that would be lightweight for shipping and easy for children to consume from directly.

Glenroy's packaging engineers developed a custom five-layer flexible packaging structure that provided an extremely high barrier against light, oxygen, and moisture, preventing spoilage and preserving nutritional value. This solution from Glenroy enabled the successful distribution of over 50,000 life-saving pouches to Haiti, where medical staff report significant improvements in the health and activity of malnourished children after just a few weeks of supplementation.
