NAB Show Crafts its Own Story of Attendee Acquisition with Gleanin Connect

NAB Show, one of the largest events in media, entertainment, and technology, needed a better way to cut through clutter and boost attendance, especially among first-time attendees and free expo hall pass registrants. To help solve this challenge, NAB Show selected GleanIn Connect, a social referral marketing platform, to drive word-of-mouth registration and extend reach beyond traditional email and advertising.

GleanIn implemented social sharing, referral links, and integrated tracking across the registration journey so attendees could invite colleagues via email and social channels. The results were strong: GleanIn Connect drove 8% of pre-registered buyers, 16.7% of registrants made referrals, and more than half of attributable registrations were brand-new attendees. NAB Show also generated $40,317 in upgraded programming revenue, more than covering the cost of GleanIn Connect.
