Using Popups to Grow Your Mailing List and Drive Traffic

Saleduck is an online deals marketplace that needed to build awareness and a loyal audience ahead of Belgium’s Wintersolden sales period. Facing intense e-commerce competition and a narrow seasonal window, their challenge was to drive relevant traffic and grow a mailing list so they could convert interest into sales when the promotion launched.

They combined high-value blog content and low-cost Google AdWords with targeted Gleam Capture popups that asked for newsletter signups before the sale and switched to drive traffic to the deals page during the event. The campaign cost about €300 and delivered 350 email signups from ~10,000 popup impressions and drove 1,500 visitors to the deals page from 5,000 impressions (30% CTR), helping boost engagement and sales.
