How Beardbrand Utilises Gleam and Other Channels to Build a Sustainable Business

Beardbrand, a men’s grooming e-commerce brand, had stalled after an early run of orders and needed a way to reignite growth and engagement. Gleam founder Stuart McKeown spotted owner Eric Bandholz on Reddit, offered to help, and upgraded Beardbrand to Gleam Pro to run a targeted campaign tied to No‑Shave November.

They launched a weeklong, daily‑winner giveaway for the Beardbrand Oil Collection, integrating Gleam with MailChimp and using multiple entry actions (newsletter signup, social follows, Instagram photo submissions, purchases and referrals) while promoting across Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit and email. The campaign drove 89,903 visits (66,544 uniques), big social lifts (weekly gains: Facebook +1,502, Twitter +408, Instagram +674), +1,001 new email subscribers (nearly doubling the list), and about four times the normal daily sales on launch day, with sustained momentum afterward.
