Orangutan Outreach, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting orangutans, initially faced resistance from its board regarding cryptocurrency donations due to misunderstandings about the process and volatility. The organization turned to The Giving Block to help modernize its fundraising and accept crypto donations.

The Giving Block provided a simple platform that automatically converted crypto to cash, alleviating the board's concerns. With their support, Orangutan Outreach received a single donation of 169 ETH ($389,000) and ultimately raised more in crypto donations than its entire revenue from the previous year. This new funding allows them to expand their sanctuary, fund new projects, and train veterinarians, creating a significant war chest to further their mission.
