Case Study: CEDARS fills fundraising gaps with The Giving Block

A The Giving Block Case Study

Preview of the CEDARS Case Study

How CEDARS is Using Crypto Philanthropy to Fill Gaps That Traditional Fundraising Doesn’t Cover

CEDARS, a children and youth nonprofit founded in 1947, supports about 2,000 children each year with foster care, emergency shelters, education, and clinical services. While traditional fundraising, grants, and contracts helped cover some costs, they did not fully fund the organization’s holistic model of care, creating gaps in programming and long-term support.

To close those gaps, CEDARS turned to The Giving Block’s crypto philanthropy solution and integrated it with its CRM, Neon, making it easier to accept and manage cryptocurrency donations. In its first year, CEDARS raised $78,000 in crypto gifts, much of it from outside its local area, helping fund added services and move closer to its goal of fully sponsoring emergency shelter rooms that cost $150,000 per year.
