A GiveSmart Case Study
United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) wanted a better way to run its annual ELEVATE celebration after its previous auction software proved expensive, limited, and disconnected from other event needs like point-of-purchase sales. The team, led by Peter Hanscom and Jody Pope, needed a digital-first, guest-friendly, staff-friendly solution that could reduce the number of tools, support teams, and deposit processes they had to manage. GiveSmart, including GiveSmart Fundraise, was already being used for voting, live appeal, and reporting, making it a natural fit to evaluate further.
UWCI implemented GiveSmart Events alongside GiveSmart Fundraise to streamline campaign pages, text-to-donate, live appeal, voting, auction, point-of-purchase sales, and reporting in one connected platform. GiveSmart also provided personalized training and a remote technician to help staff and volunteers manage check-in and checkout successfully. The result was a year-over-year increase for ELEVATE and significant growth in high-impact revenue streams, including people’s choice voting fundraising and auction proceeds, while UWCI also gained the flexibility to expand its use of GiveSmart for future virtual auctions and wish list campaigns.
