The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation partnered with GiveSmart to support the Steve Harvey Ride for Charity, a month-long fundraising campaign tied to Steve Harvey’s radio show. Their challenge was to drive awareness and donations for a mentoring program for at-risk youth through a simple, mobile-friendly text-to-give experience that could engage supporters at scale.

Using GiveSmart’s text-to-give and online donation tools, the foundation let donors give via the keyword STEVE to 91999 or through its donation page, with a $1 minimum gift and a live fundraising thermometer showing progress in real time. The campaign raised $1,013,102 from 63,679 donors, and GiveSmart’s follow-up text solution helped achieve 86% fulfillment of text donations, significantly boosting support for the foundation’s mentoring work.
