Club Knitflix Knitathon raises $20K in 12 hours with Givebutter

Club Knitflix, a knitting club formed by friends during the COVID-19 pandemic, wanted to host a virtual fundraising event to support the Black Lives Matter movement. Their challenge was finding a fundraising platform that would allow them to direct as much of the donations as possible to the charities, as they were concerned about high fees on other platforms. They turned to Givebutter to host their peer-to-peer fundraiser.

Using Givebutter, the club set up a campaign for their 12-hour Knitathon event. The platform's low, transparent fees and high customizability allowed them to create a campaign that fostered a strong sense of community. Givebutter's team model helped them engage over 56 teams and 465 supporters. The campaign was a major success, raising over $20,000, which was twice their original goal, with over 90% of donors opting to cover the processing fees.
