A GitLab Case Study
Agoda, the Singapore-based online travel platform, needed to improve developer productivity while dealing with a sprawling, hard-to-manage toolchain of at least nine tools. The complexity was slowing time to market, complicating onboarding, increasing governance and compliance challenges, and creating maintenance burdens for its DevOps teams. Agoda chose GitLab Ultimate to simplify its software development environment and support its growing engineering organization.
With GitLab, Agoda consolidated multiple point solutions into a single DevSecOps platform, replaced some tools entirely, and used GitLab’s Kubernetes executor to move away from VM-based runners. As a result, the company improved developer happiness, reduced licensing/support/maintenance costs, strengthened security and compliance with a single source of truth, and sped up upgrades and autoscaling. Agoda also reported GitLab earned more than 4 out of 5 in employee satisfaction surveys and became the second-highest-rated tool in its stack.
