A GitLab Case Study
iFarm, an agriculture-technology company that builds a mobile app to track harvests and crop treatments, faced stalled product quality due to language barriers with non-English-speaking farmhands and a lack of development visibility with its distributed engineering team. Seeking a single platform to improve collaboration and traceability, iFarm adopted GitLab for source control and paired it with Bugsee to capture crash data from field devices.
Using GitLab (integrated with Bugsee) gave iFarm end-to-end visibility—Bugsee captured video, logs and system state from user devices and automatically created detailed GitLab issues for engineers. The GitLab + Bugsee workflow accelerated development and iteration, produced 63 automatically reported issues, delivered 7.5x faster engineering time per bug, and saved 424 hours for each "bug to resolution," enabling quicker prioritization, full regression testing and substantially higher productivity. GitLab’s interface made these crash reports accessible to the whole team, closing communication gaps and speeding fixes.
